LIVING LEGENDS: The Dark Ages

May 18 will mark the start to Living Legends 5…The Dark Ages. The Northern Gunmwn will be in attendence to support their own as Sniperwolf and Murph Command the HORDE to rise up and over throw the EVIL EMPIRE.

Press Release: Living Legends 5 Commanders Announced

CPX Sports and Viper Paintball are proud to announce the commanders for the 5th installment of the world famous Living Legends scenario paintball event being held May 18-20, 2012 at CPX Sports in Joliet, IL. Steven “Pretty Lou” Ruiz of The Reservoir Dogs will be commanding for the The New Empire as “Maximus Caesar.” The Horde will be commanded by Living Legends veteran Thomas “Sniperwolf” Kerstetter of the Grassy Knoll Gunmen as “Scourge”.

“These commanders were hand-picked for their notoriety, skill, and personalities. We feel that their dedication to the players and the understanding of the total concept of Living Legends will make them great leader and ensure an incredible experience for everyone participating in the event. We are grateful they accepted the invitation to command at Living Legends V and we look forward to working with them.” said Kerry “Viper” Rosenberry, the producer of the event.

Press Release: Living Legends 5 XO’s Announced

Thomas “Sniperwolf” Kerstetter of the Grassy Knoll Gunmen, and commander of “The Horde,” has chosen Kevin “Murph” Gibson as his XO to help bring down the New Empire. Steven “Pretty Lou” Ruiz of the New Empire has chosen the legendary Chuck Norris of paintball, Dave Cilio, as his XO to help ward off the evil of the Horde.

Viper had this to say: “In my opinion both commanders have executed a ‘slam dunk’ with their XO selections. I interacted closely with Murph last year when Sean Scott and I co-commanded an event, and I have played alongside Dave Cilio a number of times. Both of these individuals have the focus to help them win, and have earned respect that will inspire players to follow them.”

CANADA INVADES LIVING LEGENDS

Andre “WOLF” Critchlow has taken on the challenge of GENERAL in the fourth installment of Living Legends held at the world famous CPX SPORTS. For those who don’t know Wolf, he’s been playing paintball for twenty years and more recently has become one of the most popular paintball personalities with his popular YOUTUBE channel, THE WOLF’S DEN.

This years theme is “ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK” and Wolf will be taking on the role of “DUKE” a street smart, self proclaimed leader who’s soldiers are deeply loyal and willing to carry out his orders. Warhammer, better know as Jared Bronson from Bad Karma, will be leading his troops against the “DUKE”. Jared has also been playing for twenty years and his experience as a US Army Ranger and Scout Sniper makes him a great opponent.

The game is produced by none other then Kerry “VIPER” Rosenberry. For those who have never been to a VIPER game…it’s something you have to do at least once. Over the years the Gunmen have the opportunity to share the field with both Wolf and Bad Karma, and great freindships have grown. It has been a difficult decision…..play for wolf….or Bad Karma…….

Redneck Rivalry 2010 @ Adrenaline Paintball

Sitting the staging area getting my equipment ready I looked over to the blue tent and saw many experienced ballers getting ready for battle. As I surveyed the opposition I saw several well practiced scenario players and just as many talented tourney players. Then I looked over my other shoulder and saw the green jerseys of my teammates, the Northern Gunmen, and my mind was at ease. I knew we were in for a fight, but I knew that we would be up for whatever they threw at us.

The Northern Gunmen hit the field for Adrenaline Paintball’s Redneck Rivalry. This year’s installment of the annual classic was just as much fun as previous years. There were many players of all experience levels in attendance. On the Red team the Gunmen joined teammate General “Wizard”, to defend his run of victories as a General at Adrenaline Big Games. A few familiar faces from their Tournament days, Ralph and Nater, joined the Gunmen. The teams looked pretty well balanced before the action started.

In the first scenario opposing Blue Team got off to a fast start holding the Gunmen and the rest of the Red Team inside the forest. Despite all of our efforts we could not break out of the woods. Thanks to a well-planned air drop of 7 red players the Red Team was able to accomplish our mission of capturing the Tippmann Tower to keep the score close after the first scenario. In the second scenario the Gunmen stepped up their game lead the Red Team across the field and pushing the Blue Team back into their base and claimed the Outpost for their own. In the third and fourth scenarios the Red Team continued to increase their lead and impose their will on the Blue Team by controlling the field, capturing objectives, and completing missions. The Blue team fought like true warriors all day and put forth one hell of a battle, but in the end the Gunmen and everyone on the Red Team helped General Wizard claim another decisive victory on the Adrenaline field. Honorable mention goes to Gerald “Undertaker” Goodman of the Gunmen for having only 1 punch on his medic card. Gerald was on field all day at the heart of every battle and managed to only get hit 1 time, sure glad he’s on our side.

The Gunmen had a blast and can’t wait to take the field with everyone again.

Archangel 2010

The first thing I noticed as I entered the woods was the enormous size of the hills, with bunkers strategically placed all over them. Our general told us that the action was happening at MIA and to head there as quickly as possible — They needed all the support they could get. As we moved down the path towards the field, a steady stream of players came towards us, covered in paint, prepping for re-insertion. The fort that is MIA loomed before us. In the distance, we could see shadows moving amongst the trees. Somewhere there was shouting, then shots. The other team advanced rapidly, the air filled with hundreds, if not thousands of paintballs.

The Gunmen met up with Honourbound for an awesome day of paintball on August 22nd, at Wasaga Beach Paintball, Ontario. With somewhere around 1500 players divided into two massive teams, the action was always intense, and lots of fun. We’re pleased to announce that we were on the winning team, the Archangels. Wolf from the Wolf’s den staged beside us, and the Gunmen’s Maverick worked the Tippmann tech table, fixing a seemingly endless supply of markers.

Wasaga was a great trip, and we’re looking forward to hitting the field again next year!

Gunmen take the field at SOF

On June 19, members of the Northern Gunmen travelled to Mount Hope, ON to play “Conflict Columbia”, hosted by S.O.F.

Maverick had this to say; “It was a GREAT day for paintball!! Despite a weather report that called for rain, the day was sunny and HOT all day. Wrath, Glen Morris Mercs, Task Force Raiders, Steel City Swat, BT Rangers, CBQ’s home team were all in attendance. We all had a blast playing! Vince has done a great job improving the field from the last time i was there (almost 6 years now).. the creek’s had more crossing points (one washed out thanks to a flood). We represented well and got praised time and again for our sportsmanship.”

Shortbus had similar comments; ”Had a great time at SOF. Man that can be a tuff field, too many hills, the bush was insanely thick, and the guys on the other side of the field had some killer game. It went back and fourth all day, we had them pushed back into their base, then a few insertions later we we stuck all the way back in ours. After lunch the blue team had us on our heels for a bit. Until Husker made a bad ass suicide run to clear a few of the guys bunkered in good that were holding us back. Once he opened the door a few of us remaining Red players hauled ass onto the blue side of the field. Once we were joined by our reinsertion we swept all the way across blue territory knocking out blue players all the way. The Bus actually covered the entire SOF field on one life. I was out there for a long time, man am I tired.”

Husker summed it up quite nicely; ”What a great day! Fun had by all! Met a bunch of great guys and the staff at SOF were awesome! Thanks for all the great reffing too.”

Tippmann World Challenge Update

The F.O.G. have been hard at work preparing for their upcoming role as the driving force behind the World Team in the upcoming Tippmann World Challenge. Doc from the Grassy Knoll Gunmen states “We are working hard to provide the best support possible in order to bring down Team Tippmann from a back to back victory, and also to provide a great social event for players both on and off the field. We are coordinating with players and teams and are already on our way to victory in 2010″.

Team Tippmann has many veteran teams and players on their side and even with the dominating field play the World team showed last year, it was Team Tippmann’s experience, hard work and determination that drove them to victory. That being said, it will take co-operation between the ranks and players of the World Team in order to de-throne Team Tippmann.

“For the F.O.G. it’s not all work either” says Shortbus from the Northern Gunmen…..”We will be bringing thousands of dollars worth of prizing ranging from Full Clip to Global GenX to Valken, and we are finalizing plans for some evening entertainment for everyone….not to mention a few surprise guests too.”

Northern Gunmen at Living Legends 3

Members of the Northern Gunmen, along with friends, are currently in Joliet, IL for Living Legends 3. The Gunmen took the field today in an intense battle at CPX, and we members can be attributed to helping achieve tactical mission objectives, and generally wrecking S#$T on the field!

Lots of pictures are being taken, so expect some major updates in our photo gallery soon.

We’re also spending the weekend helping Wolf out with a special edition of the Wolf’s Den, where he interviews the Legends, spokspersons for the paintball community, and reps from the biggest paintball companies. We’ll also be covering NPPL on Sunday! This looks to be the biggest/best Wolf’s Den yet.

F.O.G. Leads World Team

A grudge match between super-powers! This September, Tippmann will once again attempt to overtake the World in a massive two day event at Hell Survivors, located in Pickney Michigan.

This year, The Fraternity of Gunmen, comprised of Canada’s Northern Gunmen and the Grassy Knoll Gunmen from Johnstown Pennsylvania, will lead the World team. These two teams have joined forces to exclusively sponsor the World team, a feat never seen before at an event this size. The F.O.G. will be joined by special guests and teams……Tippmann has never seen such an impressive adversary.

At the Tippmann-World Challenge game , two armies of over 500 players engage, attempting to eliminate the opposition while keeping control of bases located throughout the field. Points are awarded for eliminations and base control. Each time a player returns to action, their player card is scanned and points are awarded to the other team. Additionally, each base is worth a certain amount of points, and the points grow each minute the base is held.

On September 25-26 2010, Tippmann World Challenge enters its 12th year. Being noted as the greatest rivalry in paintball, a battle is brewing – one destined to be fought in Hell
